Overview
We were appointed by specialist outdoor attractions group Brandauer to provide civil engineering for the installation of a new 565m alpine toboggan track in Colin Glen Forest Park in West Belfast – the first Alpine coaster ride in Ireland.
What We Did
Works involved the reshaping of existing ground to suit the level of the new track layout; installation of two 15m long tunnels; and construction of top and bottom stations and associated fencing and lighting layouts. We worked closely with the Austrian design team to ensure that the enabling works had been completed prior to the programmed arrival of the construction team.
Key Detail
We also assisted with the construction of some parts of the track and managed the supply of local materials and coordination of deliveries and storage. Carpark SUDS system, scale installation, and gabion wall retaining structures.
